Jean de Florette
A new man comes into town and takes his land that his mother left him. Once he starts farming the land the drought hits. His land has a spring on it but Cesar and Ugolin plugged it with cement. They watched his slowly go insane and he gets killed by a rock that hits him in the head. His allows Ugolin to buy the land from Jean's wife. At the end Ugolin unplugs the spring and Jean's daughter Manon sees them unplug the spring.

Ugolin sees Manon and falls in love with her. Manon repulsed Ugolin's love which causes him to commit suicide. After this Cesar sees this he is destroyed and starts to die. An old lady then comes and tells Cesar that Jean was his son, his also caused his death because he killed his own son. He dies and leaves everything to Manon and her husband.
